WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading, also known as Eyebrow Embroidery and/or Eyebrow Feathering, is a form of Permanent Makeup, Soft Tap Technique or Japanese Method Makeup which is implemented using a handheld tool comprised of between 6-14 micro needles in the shape of a blade, hence the name Microblade. This technique is performed without using a machine. Pigment is collected with the Microblades, which is attached to a handheld device, and then deposited into the epidermis, the outermost layer of skin. This technique gives the appearance of extremely fine, crisp and natural looking hair strokes that last up to 2 years. Micro-blading is a gentler alternative to Permanent Makeup. The color is implanted closer to the surface of the skin and the applied hair strokes appear crisp and very fine. The effects last up to 18 months, after which the pigment fades and leaves the skin. This method is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of his or her eyebrows. The results are natural looking, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present. People suffering from alopecia, trichotillomania or any other conditions, that cause hair loss benefit greatly from microblading, as well as those who simply aren’t happy with their eyebrows.

WILL I NEED MORE THAN ONE SESSION AND HOW LONG WILL MY BROWS LAST?

The microblading procedure normally requires multiple treatment sessions. For best results, client is required to return for at least one perfecting treatment service session which is included in the initial service cost. This treatment service is scheduled immediately after the first treatment, and should take place 4-6 weeks after the initial procedure.
A color boost is required usually between 12-18 months. A touch-up may be required at 12 months or sooner for oily-skinned clients, those who tan often, or or often expose brow area to certain chemicals (facial peels, chlorine, anti-aging products, etc.). Pigment retention varies depending on skin type, age, aftercare, immune system, medications, certain chemicals, and the type of pigment used.

HOW LONG WILL THE PROCEDURE TAKE?

The initial visit should take no more than 2 hours. The two hours consist of discussing your desired eyebrow shape, mapping and outlining your new brow shape, reviewing your new shape together to ensure you are fully happy with the outline, allowing time for the topical numbing cream to take effect, microblading your eyebrows, and discussing your aftercare instruction. You will be walked through the procedure in depth step-by-step. Your perfecting visit (4-6) weeks later will usually run about an hour.

 WILL IT HURT?

As everyone reacts to pain differently I can say you will be comfortable during your visit. A topical numbing cream is applied on the brows before starting the procedure and a liquid numbing is used during the procedure to ensure your brows remain numb and you are comfortable.

WHAT IS THE AFTERCARE AND ARE THERE ANY LIMITATIONS ON WHAT I CAN DO?

During the healing process you will need to avoid wetting your brows for 5-7 days after the procedure. A&D ointment or a healing ointment that is available for sale should be applied 2-3 per day for the first week. Your eyebrow color will look a bit dark between days 2-4 with light flaking, which is totally normal. You will not be allowed to pick, scratch or apply makeup to your brows during the healing process. Normally there is no redness the day after the procedure. Working out the first week should be kept light and no tanning beds during the healing process are permitted. Normally within 7 days you’re healed and back to normal.
